If you’ve been reading the tabloids lately, or watching the news, or listening to Howard Stern, you’d know that Camille and Kelsey Grammer have just gone though a rather bitter divorce. Camille’s using the spotlight to reveal intimate details of her marriage. Kelsey’s using every opportunity to be pictured in the midst of handsy PDA sessions with his 29-year-old fiancée Kayte Walsh. We get it: You guys are so over. Kelsey’s moved on so much that he has plans to marry by the end of this month.

You’d think Kelsey would have his hands full while celebrating his 56th birthday today. Not so much. Having been spotted on Friday lounging poolside with Kayte in Florida, this bachelor seems to take stress in stride.

Nonetheless, ex-wife Camille is not pulling punches. While it’s clear that she won’t be attending Kelsey’s pending nuptials, her team has confirmed that neither will her daughter, who has a conflicting talent show that same day. Either Kelsey knew that and is obviously OK with it, or he hadn’t heard the news yet and is hanging out in Miami oblivious to what’s happening in the rest of America.

Whatever the case, Kelsey is living on his terms now. After reaching celebrity status with his roles on Cheers and Frasier, Kelsey’s keeping relevant with his most-recent successful stint playing Georges on Broadway’s La Cage aux Folles.

A seemingly private person (until now), he probably didn’t expect that his personal life would become such a spectacle. Thanks to Camille’s spot on the Real Housewives, we get a peek into the goings on of their relationship and home life. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that we celebrity news junkies are on our toes today, anxiously awaiting his birthday kickoff.

He’s been so spontaneous recently that I’m looking for some “it’s my birthday, and we’re having another baby!” news. C’mon, man, give us something good!
