With all of the celebrity birthdays this week, we almost let National Dance Day pass us by! This weekend is the perfect time to celebrate. Show off those sweet dance moves at home, at the disco club or even at your favorite restaurant with live music. I’ve put together a list of my top 10 dance movies to get your body grooving.

Black Swan
Ethereal, graceful, yet a little demented and psycho; I’ll never look at ballet the same way again.

Dirty Dancing
Patrick Swayze and John Travolta are the two best actor-dancers ever. Period.

Step Up
A modern-day Dirty Dancing, in which a break dancer from the streets meets a wealthy ballerina.

Flashdance
I’ve learned that dancers, who have toned legs, are the only ones who are legally approved to wear legwarmers. If you’re not a dancer, don’t even think about it.

Chicago
Everyone was so good in this movie — Renee Zellweger, Queen Latifah and, of course, Catherine Zeta-Jones. I got chills, the dancing was so awesome.

Beat Street
Break dancing has a little special place in my heart. And nobody does it better than the Rock Steady Crew and New York City Breakers.

Saturday Night Fever
Please see comment above about Patrick Swayze and John Travolta. This is hands-down one of the best dance movies.

Footloose
Kevin Bacon taught us that even country towns can be livened by a lot of dancing and a little rock ‘n roll.

West Side Story
Back in the 60s, gangs signaled they were ready to rumble with fingers snapping and toes tapping.

Swing Kids
Those rebellious kids have the nerve to swing dance and listen to (gasp!) jazz music. You too will feel the sudden urge to learn the foxtrot after this.
