It’s true! Rent one of our newest releases for $2.99 and enjoy unlimited movies priced $1.99 or less for FREE through July 4 (1-day rentals, 1 at a time).
So basically, you rent one of our newest releases at regular price, and you’ll get one movie rental free. Then, on your next visit, you’ll get ANOTHER free rental. You could just keep coming back over and over, until you’ve seen ALL THE MOVIES. Or until July 4 — whichever comes first.
Why are we doing this? Are we crazy? Yep — crazy for you!
We just want to thank all our loyal customers. And we also want you to come in and check out our new prices, new daily rental rates, and massive stockpile of new releases.

is this for in store only or can you use this for on line rentals or blockbuster boxes?
This offer is just for our stores.
Hey, as far as I’m concerned this is sooooo much better than the Blockbuster of old. I think it’s a great promotion and a good way to get people used to the new pricing. Of course, I would prefer that the New Release movies were .99 as well, but even so, I like the idea and will hang with Blockbuster long enough to see how it plays out.

…?
This whole wording is confusing. So basically…if you rent a new movie for 2.99, you get an old movie (1.99 or less) for free. Which is actually still more expensive than redbox.
Then It starts talking about on your next visit you get another free? Which is still 3 movies for 2.99….same price more or less as redbox but you cant get the newer movies for free.
Perhaps I am just not understanding. Do you always have to pay 2.99 to get 2 free or something? Or do you pay 2.99 once and then for the rest of the summer you get all 1.99 or less movies free? I don’t think I’ve had enough coffee. :/
You pay $2.99 once, then you get all movies $1.99 or less for free until July 4. You get unlimited free rentals, but only one at a time.
This is a terrible idea! Whatever marketing guy thought “hey I got it, let’s charge more than the competitor, make it a one day rental and charge extra per day!” Genius for a company that’s trying to go bankrupt. Adios blockbuster! Just hurry up so RedBox can get the rights to all new releases!
Typical….Sounds great until you “read the fine print”… The store clerk, when I asked how it worked, couldn’t really explain how it all worked..
There’s also been a major slowdown in turnaround shipping when movies have been dropped off at the store….Heck if BB/DTV would just ship the movies in your Que, it would be a step up. I’ve got the 3 out/free swap in the store and rarely do I get 3 back at one time with a week of turning them in… as far as selections on the web-site, there are very few “available”. Most go into “very long wait” mode within a day of release and then later into “Unavailable” status. much can be attributed to the sale/bankruptcy, but Red Box is looking better and better…and there’s one on every corner, how that most of the BB retail stores closed.
This is a great deal. I don’t know why people complain. I paid $2.99 (plus tax) and I am currently renting 1 movie a day until July 4. In my case, I will rent 20 or so movies by July 4 (for $3). That’s like $0.15 a movie.
Why would you say redbox is better? How can redbox cheaper than $0.15? do they give you cash when you rent movies?
What is there to complaint about? What is wrong with these people?
$0.15 / movie (or better). Case closed.
This is a great deal, I don’t understand the complaints People would complain if a company gave them cash! You pay $3 and get to rent 20+ new release movies for free including Blu-ray (BR). Red box charges $1.50 for BR. So what that you only get one per day, it’s free! As for the new one day pricing ($2.99 hot release, $1.99 new release and $.99 everything else ), take it or leave it. It’s the same as Red box for most movies and 33% cheaper for BR. Blockbuster probably has more movies and new releases than Red Box.
