- In its second week of release, The Hunger Games has crushed the competition, bringing in $61.1 million. Combined with its opening-week total of $152.5 million, the movie has grossed $251 million domestically.
- Ashton Kutcher will play Steve Jobs in an independent biopic called Jobs. Production is scheduled to begin in May.
- Martin Sheen will be playing Charlie Sheen’s dad on Anger Management. Even though they’ve had a roller coaster relationship in the past, the two seem to finally be on good terms. Anger Management premieres on FX on June 28.
- Weird Al Yankovic has sued Sony Music Entertainment for $5 million. He claims that the company shortchanged him on royalties due to miscalculated accounting costs.
- Homeland and Game of Thrones will both be receiving Peabody Awards. Treme and Parks and Recreation received honorable mentions. The awards will be formally presented on May 21.
- HBO has confirmed that the fifth season of True Blood will debut on June 10. Season 5 will have 12 episodes.
- One Tree Hill wrapped up 9 seasons with a 2-hour series finale on the CW on Wednesday.
- Universal Pictures is rebooting its Mummy movie franchise with Jon Spaihts as its writer. The first three Mummy films raked in $1 billion combined.
- Taylor Lautner is in negotiations to appear in Adam Sandler’s Grown Ups 2. No other details of the negotiations have been provided.
- Us Weekly reports that Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis will leave NBC’s Saturday Night Live at season’s end.
