- Jessica Simpson finally gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson in LA on Tuesday morning. She expressed on her website, “Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 ¾. We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!”
- The stars of E!’s reality show Khloe & Lamar announced after the second season wrapped on Sunday that they’re taking a little time-out from the show. Don’t let it get you too down, though. I’m sure we’ll still see plenty of them on another family member’s show.
- Amazon announced it will begin producing original episodic programming for the web as Amazon Studios. The programs in development will be comedy and children’s series.
- Naomi Campbell has been lured into the reality TV world by Oxygen’s upcoming unscripted series The Face. The premise: 3 supermodel coaches lead their teams of aspiring models through the ins and outs of the modeling world. Think: The Voice meets America’s Next Top Model.
- Jerry Seinfeld has been teasing the Twitterverse with cryptic tweets hinting that he, Larry David, Ricky Gervais and Alec Baldwin are working on a project together that also involves a 1952 VW bug. The suspense is killing me. These pretzels are making me thirsty!
- The 2012 MTV Movie Award nominees were announced this week. Movie of the Year contenders include eight-time nominated Bridesmaids and The Hunger Games, as well as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, The Help and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.
- Actor Jonathan Frid, who played vampire Barnabas Collins on the cult classic TV show Dark Shadows, died at age 87, just before the release of a feature film adaptation of the show starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton.
- LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian tied the knot for a second time during a vow-renewal ceremony last Friday. Their high profile relationship started in 2008 when they met and fell in love while both were married to other spouses.
- As much as it pains me to include yet another Kardashian story on this list, it’s hard to ignore the headlines that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are “talking marriage” just one month after going public with their romance. Kim’s divorce from NBA star Kris Humphries has yet to be finalized.
- After 10 months together, Lady Gaga told Vampire Diaries boyfriend Taylor Kinney to hit the road. I think she probably wants to concentrate on touring and devote more time to her little monsters.
