One of my favorite categories for the Academy Awards is Actress in a Supporting Role. Past winners have included such greats as Catherine Zeta-Jones for her role as Velma Kelly in Chicago. And who can forget Whoopi Goldberg’s comedic brilliance and win for Ghost? Then there was Tatum O’Neal’s breakout performance in Paper Moon. I think it’s going to be a close race this year, and I’m excited to see what (or who) the nominees will wear, who they are with, and of course which lady takes home the Oscar. Read More

My Oscars Observations
From the beginning, even before the show officially started, I thought James Franco was a little off. Then he proved it by daring to sit for a quick interview. Does anybody know what the hell was he talking about? Things didn’t get much better for him as the show progressed. By the end, I think he completely gave up and didn’t even bother trying to look awake and/or sober. Read More

I think the Great Franco/Hathaway Dual Host Experiment was a bit of a flop. It wasn’t horrible, but it certainly wasn’t great. That fact was highlighted even more by the appearance of Billy Crystal. Probably a bad idea to bring out a living reminder of how good the hosting used to be. Read More
